Even some loyal iPhone users have begun switching over to androids due to their advances in lots of areas, things like screen smoothness have improved dramatically over the past couple of years, also nearly all androids beat the iPhone by costing less than half the price!

1. Google Pixel 3 - Not much different from the Pixel 2XL, the Pixel 3 XL will give you the latest software and security updates as soon as they are available and is definitely a worthy phone even for the price (£869) which is £130 less than the cheapest Iphone X. One key difference to the Pixel 2 XL and most current flagship phones is that the Pixel 3 XL comes with 2 front facing cameras, apparently designed for 'group selfies' this is new and makes it stand out amongst the others that are battling over their double back cameras.

2. Samsung Galaxy S9+ - The S9+ is running its own race by not participating in the Iphone X lookalike competition, that every other flagship phones seem to be competing in this year. At £869 it's definitely not cheap, but the 6.2-inch screen melts over the edges of the phone and has a stunning HDR display. The model also comes with a headphone jack!

3. Huawei P20 Pro - It's 6.1 inches and costs only £679, takes exceptional photos and video with its three rear cameras (especially at night) and a massive 4,000mAh battery - what's not to love? This model is Huawei's best effort yet and is a huge threat to many DSLR cameras that cost thousands. So if photography is your passion, or maybe you just want a nice Instagram feed, the P20 Pro is well worth a budget-friendly thought.

4. Moto G6 Play - Costing a VERY generous £159 this model is amazing value featuring a decent camera, 4,000mAh battery and a 5.7-inch screen. Although the screen only processes a sub-Full HD screen, this doesn't make too much of a difference and if you can't live without that little luxury then the Moto G6 (£199) might be for you!
