Gaming on our phones has certainly come on leaps and bounds from the days of playing Tetris on a flip-up phone. The question is, however, are we heading towards a time where cellular devices dominate the gaming industry and register consoles and PC platforms obsolete? 

Enter the ROG, the Asus designed powerhouse gaming phone. It has an impressive 6-inch AMOLED (2,160×1,080) 10-point multitouch display which provides rich colors and a vibrant look. The HDR display has a 90 Hz refresh rate (instead of the standard 60 Hz) with 1 ms response time.  The ROG also features dual front-facing speakers with a smart amplifier which offer hi-res 192kHz/24-bit audio and DTSX virtual 7.1-channel surround sound. The audio was simply amazing. Even when cranked, I barely noticed any distortion. And just from the phone’s speakers alone, it was loud enough to fill a small a room. 

The ROG definitely does offer all there is to offer at present time for phone gaming The wide range of available accessories for it is mind-blowing. One of the ones that really caught my eye is the TwinView Dock, which provides you with a second screen and a joystick-like holder to give you that extra advantage in all your gaming endeavors. 

My favorite ROG Phone Accessory is probably the Mobile Desktop Dock. It retails for $230 in the US. Not only does it prop the phone up for use as a mini display, but it also includes loads of ports so you can hook the ROG Phone up to a mouse, keyboard, and an external monitor so you can game in style and with enhanced precision.

Asus has made a mind-blowingly powerful phone which any gamer would be ecstatic to have. Who knows if this is the start of mobile gaming taking over, but this phone certainly seems to suggest that happening.
