For West Virginia, flu season is expected to hit hard, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has included the state in a list of nineteen where the flu has spread regionally. Most people carry a word of germs on their cell phones, and U.S. Cellular is Clarksburg has a number of tips to help stay germ free. 

"If you think about it your hands are obviously always touching your cell phone at all times. So whatever kind of germs or bacteria that you have on your hands is actually transferring to your phone. So its really important that your not only washing your hands and keep them free and clean but your also making sure that your not touching different surfaces such as your phone," said store manager Ashleigh Raeder.

The average cell phone user touches their device over 2500 times a day. Your hands have plenty of opportunities to transfer germs from the outside world onto your phone.

"You can actually get a screen cleaner for your device to clean your phone to making sure there's not bacteria or anything on it. Just be mindful of what your purchasing. So its highly recommended that you have something safe for electronic devices such as this," said Raeder. 

"It is recommended to use an antibacterial cleaning solution or cloth to disinfect your phone. If you have a case on your phone like this one, make sure to remove the case and get all the essential parts, especially the main screen and any buttons that you have on your phone. It's especially important during this flu season to keep your phone as clean as possible." 

"Make sure you buy something that's approved for electronics, but I would really recommend, don't do anything homemade," said Raeder. 

There are also multiple apps for phones that can be used to track flu outbreaks and find care tips.

 "Different applications that we have is 'Sick Weather", doctors on demand. Those are at least two of the free applications that you can use. Any questions that you have or if your looking for different ways to clean your device, make sure you come on in," said Raeder.
